In addition to our native Whitetail and Mule Deer, we have Red Stag, Aoudad Sheep, Mouflon Sheep, Fallow Deer and Axis Deer. Aoudad Sheep
They can be hunted on foot by glassing the canyons and draws, or occasionally they can be seen at feeders or grazing on one of the food plots around the ranch. Aoudad can be hunted throughout the year, however, the best months to hunt Aoudad are from mid-November through mid-March when they are more visible. Hunting methods can be by spot and stalk or stand hunting over known travel routes or food plots. Red Bluff Ranch is one of very few game ranches where a strictly spot-and-stalk hunt for Aoudad can be done. More info on Aoudad Sheep Hunting Red Stag We have stocked Red
Bluff Ranch with the best quality stags and hinds possible. If you are looking for an exceptional Stag, and do not have the time to travel overseas, please give me a call. My Trophy Red Stag hunts are very reasonably priced, especially considering the quality of Stag on Red Bluff Ranch. See our rates page for info on fees. The best hunting time is preferably early in the fall before the Stags loose any points fighting each other. However, the Stag can be hunted from mid-August through mid-February when they start to loose their antlers. We conduct our Red Stag hunts as spot and stalk hunts or safari style. Mouflon Sheep
The Mouflon inhabit some of the roughest country on the ranch. They are very wild and do not stand around when they are spooked. Like the Aoudad they make for a very challenging hunt.
Fallow Deer
Axis Deer The Axis or Chital Deer, as they are known in the native country of India, are considered by some one of the most beautiful of the exotics in Texas. Luckily, Axis is the most numerous of all the exotic species in Texas. Axis Deer venison is prized as one of the tastiest of all of the exotic species. Both males and females have a dark red coat with bright white spots along the back and sides. Red Bluff Ranch has a small population of Axis Deer. Due to their difficult nature, we will offer Axis Deer to hunters who are booked for other species as the odds of success on Axis are low.
